Here at the Denrich Flooring carpets warehouse, we do a lot of carpet installation in Fontana, CA, and one of the things we have noticed, is that our customers tend to over prepare for the arrival of our installation team.
1. Save the Flooring for Last
If you are doing a wider scale remodeling project that extends beyond a simple flooring installation, it is best to make sure that all of the other projects you have planned are completed, before you move on to laying down carpet.
By ensuring that the carpet is the last thing to go down, you will save a lot of trouble and possibly avoid damage to your new carpeting, that could result from spilled paint, plaster dust, and general tracking around of construction debris.
2. De-Clutter the Floors
It's a good idea to make sure that the area where your crew will be working is free of clutter on the floor. It's also a good idea to make sure that any pet or children's toys, shoes, or any other possible tripping hazards, are removed from the area.
This will ensure that your team can go straight to work on your floors without delay, and will ultimately save you a little money on labor. Time is money!
3. Find a Place for the Pets
As much as we all love our pets, sometimes they can be a bit of a hassle when you're trying to get things done around the house. Pets running wild on a worksite, are a danger to both themselves, and the crew who will be working in your home.
If possible, try to find a place for your pets to stay while work is in progress, or make sure they are unable to gain access to the worksite while your crew is on the job.
For most installers, that's really all you need to worry about. If you are unsure about which responsibilities fall to you, don't be afraid to ask your installers before they arrive. Different outfits have different services they will and will not perform, and it is always a good idea to sort it out sooner, rather than later.
